About the research

The objective of this research was to develop a recommended laboratory test for predicting the initial retroreflectivity of pavement markings in the field based on the quality of the glass beads. The test was to be rapid, repeatable and reproducible, cost-effective, practical, and verified and validated through measurements of the initial retroreflectivity of pavement markings applied in the field.
